Great track here!

You managed to do a really good job of stacking different instruments on top of each other during the buildup. The only complaint I would have is that some of your synths need to move more. With the song having quite a slow pace it really makes everything more interesting to the ears if the instruments don't stay at one constant sound.

Knowing when the track should flow in and out, knowing where to add elements and take them away and knowing where to add the subtleties that the average listener wouldn't consciously notice is what really makes a producer, I think. It's easy to notice it in other peoples tracks sometimes but noticing it in your own is difficult when you're listening to it over and over again. It's definitely a problem I struggle with.

That being said, I did really enjoy this so I hope I don't come across as a dick.

Good work mayn! :)

Thanks for the kind words, as well as the critique. I've been trying to write more electronic music lately because I'm not too familiar with the genre. I studied a bunch of EDM "How to" tutorials on Youtube and tried to get some of the basics down in this track, like pitch bend risers, white noise sweeps, sidechain pumping, and just trying to get some solid, standard tones from my instruments. It's a really fun style of production to learn (usually I write orchestral-based music, which is less interesting from a production standpoint). I appreciate the advice and I'll put it to good use in the next track. Cheers! - Andrew
